I am trying to print my own designs for some cabochons, would you be able to share with me what type of printer you use
I use an Epson inkjet printer, set on "best" quality. The paper is a lightweight cardstock. Another alternative is to take the file to a copy center, like Office Max, Staples, and have them print onto cardstock for you. Those image are more vibrant because they are printed with a laser.
Do u spray anything on them when they are done
You can apply food grade linseed oil.
I enjoyed your videos, one question do you any problems cutting the 1/4 wood with this laser.
@@loaferscorner1600 I did 2 passes and that worked for me.
Your tutorial is excellent As an novice to using a laser machine, I really appreciated the detailed step-by-step coverage of the design process and your use of the cutout sections was brilliant idea. I hope you keep making more tutorials.
@DaleGustafson-n2f Thank you. I appreciate your comment, and I'm glad that you found the tutorial helpful.
You said "trivet" at the end - can these Dollar Tree glass pieces be used as an actual trivet - straight from the oven or stove top??? That'd be nice!
Unfortunately no, as this would activate the sublimation ink and destroy the image.
please help, I have a 20mm thick piece of oak but cannot find anywhere any help for what settings to use when using the honeycomb bed, which shelf if any I should be putting the oak board on, and then which settings I ned to change on the software before processing it... thanks
Remove the honeycomb and place it in the first slot down. Place the board on it and see if the top of the wood comes up to the opening, if not you will have to place something under it to make it level with the opening. Change the "MODE" to "Baseplate Removed" and perform the automeasure. If that comes back OK choose your settings from the materials panel. Use the new materials suggestions to choose the look you want.
Thankyou for that, I'm. Amazed that having watched so many videos, read loads of guides I couldn't find any that describes exactly what I was looking for. @@PoppyHillDesigns
Thank you for this tutorial. I am new to this machine and software and am finding it hard to get my head around, this tutorial was really helpful. thanks again
Glad you found it helpful. These machines are a lot of fun.
Very helpful video, I am new to laser machines and have this one. Thank you very well explained video.
So glad you found it helpful.
what would be the settings for an xtool d1 pro 20w?
I don't know. I have a 10 watt machine. Try starting low and building up until you find the right combination.
thanks a lot for this excellent tutorial, I discovered news software functions with this vidéo. I'll be there for the others episodes!!
Thank you for this video. I am excited to do this.
Thank you Paris, glad you liked the video.
I just received my M1 yesterday and was browsing several videos trying to learn how to use it and came across your channel. SOO GLAD I DID!! You are very thorough, and as an amateur, that makes all the difference in the experience. I am a visual learner, so your step-by-step instructions guides me through the process with ease! So glad I found your channel. Looking forward to learning all I can about using the M1 and V 2.0 of Creative Space.
Thank you Daniel, so glad you liked the video and found it informative. Good luck with your M1, I really enjoy mine.
Fantastic, thanks for the tutorial.
Glad you enjoyed it. Have a great evening.
Awe Mann ! This is such detailed information! Thank you thank you, really need this tutorial for all crafters! New Subbie for this too😊
Thank you, I'm glad you found the information helpful.
What is the advantage to doing this versus printing on a color printer and framing? Is the image embedded into the wood, or is the wood used only to hold the paper in place?
It doesn’t use expensive printer ink and looks really cool and detailed
Because there's no sense of statisfation that's the main reason people enjoy arts n craft.
You, do not have enough views!!!! I hope you see this, because you are showing what NO other crafter is showing. This is needed!!!
Thank you! RUclips ranks channels by how frequently you post videos and how many views. Time does not allow me to post as often as I would like. I'm happy that you enjoy my content please share my link to others that many benefit from it. Thank you for watching.
@@PoppyHillDesigns I will most definitely share your videos. I wish there were more videos like this. I don’t think I have ever seen one and I have really needed it. I do sublimation, htv, rhinestones, designing, etc, but being able to get those measurements will make the project look better and go faster. You should keep at this as time allows! I get it. I have a farm that takes my time. I Have to grab my time when I can.
does the glass cabochon need to be a little smaller than the bezel?
This was great thank you. I don't have the same laser machine but I am hoping I can incorporate what you showed using Shilloute Studio and then pulling it into Lightburn. I'm not sure if you can design in Lightburn as I have only used it so far to transfer my files to cut on my machine.
What do you use so the wood won't moved ?thank you
Nothing, it's heavy enough so it won't move.
I'm looking to make this but don't quite see how you attached the hangar - doesn't seem to be covered in tutorial. did you add another spacer at top? how did you get the little flower in center top hole attached - nice touch i would like to incorporate.
Thank you for the very detailed instructions. How did you know what to adjust the settings to?
I tested on another bit of wood to get the settings that I wanted. xTool has a newer version of their software out that gives you a visual of the settings, that will be helpful.
Do you mirror the image?
I’ve been told that after about 3-4 months the image starts to fade or get foggy!! Is this true???
I didn't see any problems with my project until recently. It does seem to look a little foggy but that 2 years in. I think the 651 Oracal vinyl is key to the success of this project.
@@PoppyHillDesignsnow I’ve been told that if you use thermal laminating sheets as opposed to the Orcal 651🤷♀️ I want to try to do it, but I don’t wanna sell it to somebody and have them come back to me a few months down the road and complain about it
Hi, is it okay without homecomb or riser?
Yes, you may have some charring on the backside.
i'm excited to try out some of your ideas. do you think it would work to use only 2 pieces of wood - no spacer - glued together. glue photo to backer then top with a resin dome?
Sounds like a great idea!
On the $Store on did you put the vinyl on rough side or the smooth side?
Beautiful
Just an FYI. You helped me so I will help you as well. When you want to brake down your text to more then one line just put the cursor where you want to split the lines and hit enter. No backspace or shift key needed. (Copy paste), highlight object then right click on the object, hit copy then hit paste close to where you want it move to then make your adjustments. No need for c-control or v- control. You can also go to shapes to get a circle or square. <--- to each his/her own on this one. I like to use shapes and unlock, then size it. Either way works. Much of what I am telling you are updates or improvements they made to Creative Space. Another great video TY, I leaned new tricks from you once again.
Planning on making my own earring brand! Gonna watch this when I get home. Thanks so much!
Thank You. Finally someone that is teaching something, not trying to sell something or taking us along on a joyride while they get views yet are learning themselves. I learned a lot watching this video.
Thank you for your comment. I do my best!
Your tutorial is fantastic! You make it so easy to follow along. Thank you! I am new to laser cutting and the software. Excited to follow you and learn more. Do you have a video/file for the tree ornament hanger? Thank you!
Thank you for a great step by step tutorial. I have one question. Did you have to change your settings when cutting/engraving on the painted wood? Great video.
Thank you for the comment. I didn't change the settings for the painted wood.
Another fantastic video!! I can’t thank you enough for the precise step by step tutorial, I struggle with computer stuff and I have learned an invaluable amount of info by just watching 2 of your videos! Thank you so much!! 😁
Great to hear!
That was a very very good tutorial! Thank you so much!
Thank you, I'm glad you found it helpful.
it would be fantastic if you did more tutorials with this laser Xtool M1 Thank you😁

I came to this video only to learn what temperature and time to use to sublimate on a metal license plate. What a great video, well done, very thorough, no BS. I watched the whole thing and learned a lot. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I appreciate it. 😊
Thank you. I'm glad you found the information helpful.
Fantastic!
Thank forthe tutorial. Excelent.
Great tutorial. I feel that I can do this with these instructions. Thanks.
Thank you Dan, I'm glad that you enjoyed the video and found the instructions helpful.
NICE 😍
That is so nice, excellent tutorial. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment, so glad that you enjoyed the tutorial.
Great video & nicely explained. I’m just waiting for delivery of my M1 but have already been busy designing earrings, so seeing your video was very timely. Slightly confused about the need to mirror the copied image? I will not have the honeycomb bed, just the prism rods, so not sure how best to secure your basswood?
You did a great job explaining each step. I just ordered the XTool M1 last night. This is exactly the tutorial I needed! Thank you!
Thank you, BEST video i found. Instruction were fantastic!
Thank you, glad you found it helpful.
I’ve tried everything and sprays, coats, different glues, waiting 5 min, etc everything and I swear I’ve Ive every RUclips video on it and mine always has bubbles or bleeds or both. I’m gonna try it this way again I think it was better not cutting it out first. Ty
Wouldn't it have been easier to scan youe substrate?
Sure you could scan it, I've actually done that. Not everyone has a scanner that's why it demonstrated it the way I did.
Hi poppi such beautiful work. You teach it so calmly and well. Do you teach photo shop? I have a cricut machine and am trying to learn sublimation. Are you in Michigan by chance? I'm trying to learn and make gifts and new stuff to keep my mind off chemo treatment. I need to fill more time with prayer but I want to make stuff as well. I'm a novice to the ceicut as well, but I am excited to learn. Do you have a website? God bless! Your stuff is beautiful.
Oh wow, new subscriber right here. Thank you for this. I know I'm a little late, but this is amazing. Thank you 💗💗xx
